How the Calculation Works
The math is straightforward once you understand the relationship between mg, mL, and syringe units. Worked example with Tesamorelin (10 mg vial; 2 mg dose, the top of its published 1–2 mg daily range):
A standard 1 mL U-100 insulin syringe has 100 unit markings. Each unit equals 0.01 mL. So for a 2 mg Tesamorelin example dose with 2 mL diluent, you draw to the 40 U-100 unit mark. This worked example is illustrative only.

Choose an allowance only if you want a practical buffer — never treat a buffered figure as the exact amount needed.
